Gregor Clegane, is a freakishly large man, widely believed to be the largest man in all of Westeros. Furthermore he is heavily muscled and inhumanly strong. That, combined with his extreme height has earned him the nickname "The Mountain" or "The Mountain That Rides". He has been described as having "shoulders and arms thick as the trunk of small trees." His eyes and hair are brown of color.
In the terms of armor, he wears what is described as the heaviest, thickest plate armor in the Seven Kingdoms. His armor is so heavy that no ordinary man would be able to move, let alone fight effectively while wearing it, making him nigh-invincible in combat. Below the plate he wears chainmail and boiled leather. He also wears a plate helm with only a narrow slit for vision, atop of which is a stone fist punching up towards the sky.

Personality: Gregor Clegane is a notoriously feared warrior, infamous for his brutality and tendency towards extreme violence. Despite being a Knight, the concept of chivalry means nothing to him. His temper is uncontrollable and his unspeakable cruelty - which is mirrored in his men, who casually commit atrocities during their campaigns, makes him one of the most feared men in all of the realm.
During war, he leaves a trail of destruction, burning towns, slaughtering innocent civilians and raping and killing women and children alike.
His home, Clegane's keep is the source of many frightening stories. It is a place where servants and family members alike regularly disappear or get mutilated. Most people suspect him of being a murderer, but few dare to accuse him of anything.
Extremely tall and inhumanly strong, he is among the greatest warriors alive. Such is the power of his strength that he is known to be capable of hacking men in half with just a single blow. Wearing an armor so thick and heavy that an average person can hardly lift it and an extremely thick oaken shield, bearing the coat of arms of House Clegane, he is can be described as a nearly unstoppable juggernaut on the battlefield.
Despite being a dim and brutal man he actually has excellent warrior instincts, making him an efficient military leader.
Gregor is constantly plagued by an extreme headache. The headache's cause is unknown, but is believed to be a result of his giantism. In order to dull the pain he consumes vast quantities of milk of the poppy.
He is very solitary, usually never leaving his own lands except for wars or tournaments. That doesn't how ever doesn't mean he will answer the call of his liege lord. In fact, he is actually very loyal to the Lannisters, especially Tywin Lannister.

His family had only recently been landed, with his grandfather being the founder of the House Clegane and they are actually only landed Knights, rather than full noble house. The Clegane's owe their lands to Tytos Lannister. Gregor's grandfather was the kennelmaster at Casterly Rock and saved Lord Tytos's life. As a reward they got lands, a keep and Tytos took Gregor's father as his squire.
When Tywin Lannister succeeded his father as the Lord of Casterly Rock and started cleaning up the mess his father left behind, he wanted more from his former kennelmasters than just their fealty. He bet that training hounds to kill, isn't far from training boys to kill. In just two generations, Gregor and his brother Sandor proved him right.
Gregor's father, desperately wanting a Knight in the family, believed Gregor to be the perfect candidate. At the age of thirteen he already earned the nickname "The Mountain" as he towered over most men by then. Through Lord Tywin Lannister's influence, Gregor was personally knighted at the age of sixteen, by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen no less.
Around this time, his father and sister mysteriously died. A few years before, servants started regularly disappearing from Clegane's keep and everyone suspects Gregor of murdering them, but there are no proofs and if anyone has caught him in the act, they don't dare to say anything.
